Spajanje mode i umjetnosti: Gustav Klimt / Fashion meets Art: Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt is one of the central figures of the Viennese "Fin de Siècle " or epoch that marks the beginning of modern painting, the rising bourgeoisie, whose feminine side portrays through all of his creative phase. Portrait of Adele Bloch - Bauer has lately been consider as one of the most expensive paintings in the world.

Leader of the Viennese Art Nouveau painter Gustav Klimt became a favorite portraitist among women while his open eroticism conflicted with the hypocritical Victorian repression . Thus, under the guise of respect, Klimt wisely painted what he knew best: maddening female eroticism. While painting women he would first paint them naked and lated he would cloth them, that was discovered only after his death.
His paintings have been charged with eroticism and distinctive sensibility, sometimes excessively decorated, but the figures remained noble, festive, moderate. In a strange way his work conects modernity and tradition, complements modern society influences that surrounded him and art that he admired. Oriental exotic, luxurious plants and animal bestiary used as inspiration for his decorations, and composition, and even the dominance of gold, the result of the impact that ravenna mosaic had on him. One of the founders of Art Nouveau, sort of a chronicler of his time, he is the artist who has left behind some of the finest works ever produced.

L'Wren Scott is an American model and fashion designer who found her inspiration while creating clothes in the works of the most famous artists of the Vienna Secession Gustav Klimt. Ms. Scott displayed a knowing sense of what gets attention in a clamoring world: a well-tailored golden girl. This was easily her boldest group of tailoring, prints and embroidery, all based on Gustav Klimt and his muse Adele Bloch-Bauer. She freely interpreted the rich patterns in a way that should give her confidence to try others. The designer also noted that Klimt had avant-garde ideas about the female form. “He was scandalous,” she said. “Women of his time were wearing much looser clothing, but Klimt created strict silhouettes.”.
