Mini Dior Haul

Random beauty purchases have always been my favorite, just like articles on spontaneous beauty shopping. Maybe due to pretty pathetic May weather, maybe because of the increased volume of work over the past couple of weeks or my ever-growing wish-list, couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon a perfumery and after a while gave all in and let my wallet run free. I bought a pair of Dior sweets and one rather old Chanel love. Peek into my shopping bag and read about beauty jewels that fell into my hands.

Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer

You might remember my love for Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum, that made me write a raving review a long time ago. I was just running out of my tube and saw the new improved 3D version on the Internet. Immediately I knew it was meant to be my next purchase. With this primer/serum, every mascara performs so much better and it also conditions and nourishes the lashes. I have not yet tried the 3D as I haven't finished the old packaging yet, but this new version sounds even better than the old forumlation and I can't wait to start using it. It is applied before mascara and shouldn't be left to dry, as well as before bedtime, as a nourishing lash serum. Dior says it gives a 3D volume, 38% longer, 90% more curled and 52% thicker lashes. Price for 10 ml is app. 30 EUR.

Diorshow Extase mascara

Although I am usually very determined and opinionated when buying make-up, as I know exactly what I want, mascara purchases are an extremely upsetting and unpleasant experience for me. My expectations are usually too high and perhaps for that very reason, the results usually fail and disappoint me, as most mascaras simply don't deliver. Recently, I have been using drugstore mascaras and was actually quite pleased with them (hello Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama!), but there is no greater luxury than a high-end mascara. I debated with myself between YSL, Lancome and Diorshow Lash Extension mascara, but I acted instinctively and bought a black Diorshow Extase Mascara, which promises spectacularly bold, transformed and shaped eyelashes. The combination of unusually shaped brushes with 3 reservoirs that help to get more mascara distributed along the lashes and nourishing formula provide exceptional volume. Price for 10 ml is app. 30 EUR. So far I have only tried it twice, but unfortunately I'm not thrilled. Although it makes my eyelashes soft, it lacks the wow factor and it simply does not give great volume. I do not see an increase in my lash length neither, so I must express my current disappointment. I will try using it more and will let you know if I change my mind.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer

Lip Maximizer is a Dior lip gloss that gives instant volume to lips, contains collagen and a combination of hyaluronic fillers of marine origin. Lips remain full, soft and hydrated all day. It can be used under your usual lip product to provide an effect of fuller lips, over lipstick for extra fullness and as a treatment in the morning or evening for 15 days, in order to restore fullness of lips. It has a faint scent of mint and vanilla, lips are slightly cooled, and it leaves them extremely soft and supple. There is no visible color, as it only gives a natural shine to your lips. I use it as a treatment in the morning before other lip products and during the day. I love the comfort that it gives to my lips and how it fills my lip lines. Do you need Lip Maximizer? No, but if your lips are dry and lifeless, without fullness, start saving, because Lip Maximizer could be a very pleasant surprise for your lips. As you might have guessed, the price for 6 ml is app. 30 EUR.

Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes

5.5 g of my favorite Chanel lipgloss with a 10% discount? An opportunity not to be missed, as Chanel is known as a brand that rarely has discounts on their beautiful products. The only problem is the color selection in our stores, as it is not consistent and rather limited. The colors that are offered on the Chanel website are usually not the ones on our shelves, so I was thrilled when a nice saleswoman found "my" color: 148 Petit Pêche. This beautiful, fresh and attractive peachy-pink shade with tiny shimmer particles suits every complexion. If you have more pigmented lips, it will not give them a visible color, but on my medium pigmented lips it is a nice and natural juicy shade. It also gives them volume and oomph to every other lip product that I have. Additionally, it is extremely long lasting on the lips, does not dry them out and it will last you a long while. For more than two decades, Chanel lipglosses are my favorite beauty vice and Chanel is an absolute winner in the lip products category.

How gorgeous is this Chanel packaging?

Oh how I love goodies :)

After this excellent shopping spree, I am leaving my credit card at home and my Minister of Finance got a temporary spending ban. :) Do you like my mini haul and are you an impulsive or careful beauty buyer?
