Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift

I hadn't even celebrated my 10th birthday when a school colleague at the time told me how she wished she had my eye bags, as they resembled Madonna's in then popular music video. Of course, what did a kid like me know about eye bags and circles? It was many years after that when I realized that I had hereditary dark, hollowed yet puffy under-eye area, with exceptionally thin, dry and sensitive skin under my eyes. There is no cure for this kind of problem, all you can do is sleep more, eat healthy, exercise, drink lots of water, moisturize under-eye area well and buy a good concealer. Massage also helps, whether done with fingers or Foreo Iris. However, it is not always possible to sleep 8 and more hours, nor avoid looking at your PC monitor all day. Adding to all the above, our eyes are "hard workers" - we blink 28000 days in just one day. We stress and stretch the skin around eyes by smiling, blinking and when we apply or take off our make-up. As the skin is app. 0,5 mm (0,02 inch) thin, it is the most sensitive and tender skin area on the entire body.

Active, cooling cream-gel masque energizes skin to reduce visible signs of stress. High-performance formula minimizes the appearance of puffiness and dark circles, increases skin luminosity, lifts the eye area and helps restore skin barrier integrity. Wild Indigo Seed actives brighten to help visibly reduce under-eye circles. Sea Water Extract and Arctic Algae counter the look of puffiness. Fermented Yeast and a unique Hyaluronic Acid blend firm skin to help generate a lifting effect. Bioactive Diglucosyl Gallic Acid works with your skin’s natural microbiome (microorganisms) to brighten and energize the eye area. Formulated without artificial fragrances or colors.

Benefits:

  • Firms skin to help generate a lifting effect.
  • Visibly de-puffs the under-eye area.
  • Brightens the appearance of dark under-eye circles.

Apply generously around cleansed eye area using cooling massage applicator. Leave on for 3-5 minutes. Massage any excess product into skin, or tissue off. Use as needed for a quick boost, or daily to address signs of chronic eye fatigue. Apply lightly over make-up for extra luminosity, or use as an in-flight pick-me-up for tired eyes.

I have already briefly described the state of my under-eye area, that shows signs of every sleepless night, every "sin" of youth and present: dark, hollowed yet puffy circles and sensitive, dry, extremely thin, see-through skin, with an occasional fine line or two. Out of all these problems, fighting wrinkles might just be the easiest, with a nice nourishing, moisturizing cream and a massage, whether with your fingers or Foreo Iris. However, there is simply no cure for dark circles, the only thing you can do is get more quality sleep, eat healthier, drink a lot of water and get an occasional eye treatment to revive and reduce puffiness. Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift is my first Dermalogica product, although I have been eyeing their products for skin around the eye area. It is packaged in a hygienic tube, it has no detectable scent and has an ergonomic metal applicator. I used Stress Positive Eye Lift as a treatment on days when my under-eye area looked extremely puffy and tired, app. about 2-3 times a week. I followed the instructions and recommended Dermalogica mask application video tutorial. Immediately after applying, there is an immediate cooling effect and although I was skeptical how my sensitive eyes would react, I felt no tearing and no burning sensation. After massaging the mask in with the metal tip, I tapped in the rest and left it on for about 3 minutes. There was not really much excess product left, but I used a cotton tissue to remove the little that was left and followed with my usual eye cream (currently Kiehl's Creamy Under Eye Treatment with Avocado and Nikel Balm around the eyes and lips with almonds). There is an immediate refreshing lifting effect that you can feel for hours after and I noticed that it doesn't affect your eye make-up performance.

What I liked:
  • Packaging & ingredients
  • De-puffs under-eye area
  • Revives tired eyes
  • Cooling effect after emotional days, long nights and allergies

What I didn't like:
  • The price is high, but the extenuating circumstance is that the 25 ml packaging is enough for more than 75 uses and should be used as a special treatment

Left photo taken before treatment, right one right after applying Stress Positive Eye Lift, app. 10 minutes after. Photos are without filters. Sorry for different light, left one was taken during cloudy weather and then the sun started shining -_- You can see that the under-eye area was less puffy and more lifted.

Although I think that you can't really ever get rid of dark circles and eye bags, Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift is a nice, high quality treatment for all of us fighting multiple under-eye problems and it works as an instant solver when we lack sleep or when our eyes look puffy, whether caused by crying, late nights or allergies. If you are, like myself, vary of more invasive treatments like fillers, this little eye mask is definitely worth a try, as it instantly works on tired and puffy under-eyes. The price is high, but I feel like most of us fighting serious under-eye problems are ready to pay more for special occasion treatments, especially as Stress Positive Eye Lift promises 75 uses, which means over 8 months of using it 2 times a week. Since I will never get rid of my eye bags and circles, it is worth fighting them in all fields possible. You can buy it here. What is your biggest skincare problem and how are you fighting it?
