Late Summer New In: Castañer Chiara canvas wedge espadrilles

The Castañer family has been reinventing the espadrille since 1927. In the late ‘60s, the brand gained prominence after creating the first jute-soled wedge for Yves Saint Laurent – an iconic summer style. It is not a very usual thing for me to buy summer shoes late in the season, but I just couldn't stop looking at these from the very moment I saw them. These 8 cm wedge espadrilles have a 3 cm platform. They are made of canvas and natural jute with a V-shaped upper, as well as jute toe and heel of jute string and cotton. The wrap ankle ties with cords are beautiful and look very chic. Chiara espadrilles are, hands down, the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned, no matter the heel height and I will definitely be getting some more next summer. You can get them here or here.
